Computer Center

Heartside Ministry’s Neighborhood Computer Center works to address the discrepancy between an increasingly technology driven work & social world and the skills of many Heartside neighbors. The center, first, empowers neighbors by making computers, the Internet and desktop/word publishing software readily accessible to persons living in the Heartside community.
The center is free and open to the public during the ministry’s regular operating hours—Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. (the ministry closes at 12:00 P.M. for an hour).
Second, the center offers education and guidance for persons working at anywhere from a novice level through a relatively proficient level. Gentle and individually tailored instruction is available in desktop publishing (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint), typing, Internet navigation, etc.
Visitors are specifically encouraged to make use of the computer center (and its staff) for career building activities—resume writing and employment seeking, as well as the aforementioned skill building.
